Vacation time

 Hello Stitchy Friends!

We are currently on vacation. We're at The Great Smokey Mountains National Park.
Whew, what a busy month it has been!  We were more than ready to escape for some vacation time.

The wedding of our son and daughter in law was last weekend.  It was a beautiful wedding.  It rained that day so the events were all moved indoors, but it didn't dampen the happiness of all of us attending or that of the bride and groom.

The couple danced all evening. It was a wonderful feeling seeing them both so happy.

Addy had a great time at the wedding as well.  My sister and the rest of our Minnesota family finally got to meet her.

I did get the wedding cross stitch finished and framed in time. I don't have a picture of it on my iPad to share framed...
I also finished up Cherry Tree Hill sampler as well as my blackbird design piece, Tis the season.

They surprised me at work with a party celebrating my forty year anniversary.

Well I guess I have shared enough news for now.  I will try to be back with more stitching updates later.

  1. What a happy family blog. Abby is just adorable and best wishes to the bride and groom. Enjoy your vacation. The Smoky Mountains are beautiful especially this time of year.

  2. Congrats to your son and DIL.
Little Addy is so cute in her dress.
    The Globe turned out nice.
And congrats on 40 years of service!!

  3. Congrats on the wedding. A child's wedding is right up there with the birth of a child as far as the joy you feel. Addy is so cute. Love that expression on her face. Congrats on 40 years. WaHoo! Stitching is great. I love that pattern for a wedding sampler. So cute and not the traditional band sampler. Enjoy the Smokey Mountains. So pretty.

  4. What a happy occasion! Addy is adorable. Amazing to have been employed 40 years at the same place. Congrats to you.

  5. The wedding must have been lovely. Here in Portugal we have an old saying: a wet marriage is a blessed marriage!

  6. Congratulations to your son and DIL on their wedding! Love that pic of Addy -- so cute! Congrats also on 40 years at your job. Wow! That's fantastic!

  7. Best wishes to the newlyweds! What a fabulous looking cake and congratulations to you on your 40 years of service.
