Nearly July...!

Hello Stitchy Friends!

I can't believe it's nearly July!  I've been very neglectful at getting anything posted on my blog! I procrastinate... I tell myself as soon as I get some photos taken I will post.  Well I do have a few photos of recent finishes to share!

I just finished sewing the finish for Old Glory!  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.  I found the navy fabric in my stash with the fireworks. Then also found the red to go with it.

Then I went to my LNS yesterday to pick up my two recent framed finishes.
The first one is Stitch Every Day by Hands On Design.  I purchased this chart in Bloomington at The Counted Needle.  The second piece is Robin's Song by Little House Needleworks.  I stitched both pieces earlier this year.  I haven't decided where I'm going to hang them yet.  I may have to do some rearranging.

I'm currently stitching Cherry Hill Farm by With Thy Needle and thread.

I have the border of letters finished and now starting to work on the inner design.

I have two recent purchases that are waiting for me...
Our future DIL, Lauren, picked this out for their wedding stitching.  I need to start this soon. Their wedding will be mid-September.

Then, Holly picked this chart out

I asked her if she wanted a piece stitched with Addison's birth this is what she chose.

We have had so many rainy days here the last couple of months!  It's hard to keep up with getting the yard mowed between thunderstorms.

The flowers are doing well on the deck.

Summer is indeed upon us rainy or otherwise.  It's not so much fun to sit outside tho, the rain has produced a prolific crop of mosquitoes!

I can't finish my blog update without sharing a picture of Addison.  She is two months old today.
We stopped over to their house this morning for some cuddle time.  Mike and I are certainly enjoying being grandparents to this little cutie!

Happy stitching friends!

  1. Your framed pieces turned out so pretty.
    Great upcoming projects also.
    Addison is so cute.
    Happy 2 months to her!

  2. What lovely finishes! Your WIP looks good and I think your upcoming 2 stitches will be fun to do. Addison is a cutie!

  3. What a cute little grand daughter. Thanks to facetime, we saw our grand children today too! That is the best thing if family lives far apart. I do love all the stitching. Your patriotic piece turned out beautiful, just right for this time of year.

  4. What a great update and what an adorable grand daughter. Love your stitched pieces. "Stitch Every Day" is on my wish list and now I think I may have to add "Robin's Song" for the obvious reasons. Looking forward to your progress on your current WIP.

  5. Oh Melody - Addison is just the cutest thing ever! So much fun to be grandparent I'll bet. I like the cherry colored frame you used for Stitch Every Day, and being a birder I so like your framed finish for Robin's Song. If you could send some of your rain this direction, it would be much appreciated!

  6. Oh I really love the finish you did on Old Glory! I will keep the idea in mind, for when I ever stitch it! Your framed pieces are lovely lovely! And Miss Addison is smiling already, as if on cue for the camera... fabulous!

  7. I can't believe Addison is 2 months old already! What a cutie she is! Love the projects you will stitch for the wedding and for Addison's birth. Both are wonderful. Love all your finishes too. And your WIP! So much to admire!

  8. How darling is little Addison--just adorable, Melody. I hope and pray that I, too, will be a grandmother some day :)

I just finished Old Glory, too! It was such fun to stitch and your finish is perfect. Love the newly framed finishes, too. Your weather sounds like ours--rain, rain, and more rain. Blech!!

  9. I'm totally in love with Old Glory! I have an Addison too - one of my granddaughters. And she will be 14 on the 4th of July - our patriotic baby. :) She and I are going for birthday manicures and pedicures tomorrow. Can't wait! blessings, marlene

  10. What beautiful stitching and your grand daughter is adorable.

  11. Beautiful stitching - can I ask you what fabric you used for Stitch Every Day? I have the chart and threads but looking at alternative fabrics than WDW. x
