Hot...hot...hot

Summer is making it's appearance here in the midwest!  We've had several days in the 90s..  Also, with all the rain we've had we have a lovely crop of hungry mosquitos looking for victims...

I have been busy stitching.  I finished the LaDiDa Sampler.  It was a relatively quick stitch, and it turned out great.  I haven't gone to look in my stash of frames to see if I have something that will work.  I suspect that I will be able to find one.  One of these weekends, I need to sit down and work on framing.  I have three pieces that are waiting to be put in frames.  It isn't my favorite thing to do, but once I gather up the supplies and get started it isn't so bad.

I am currently working on a patriotic piece by Carriage House Samplings called Americana.  It is coming along.  I tend to stitch seasonal things in the season we are currently in.  The fabric in the picture looks rather yellowish.  My fabric is a nice medium tan linen.  It is going along well also.  I almost have the blue pot at the bottom done.

I've been busy reading.  I'm currently reading an older book by Dorothea Benton Frank.  I've loved all of her books.  Her new one will be out later this month.  If you're a reader, I'd love to have you 'friend' me on good reads.  It's a great website to share books.

I've been struggling with my blog header.  The picture I choose to post ends up being huge, and if I remove it, my blog header and description goes away as well.  Please bear with me and I try to figure it out....  If you have any insights, I'd be happy to hear about them...

I do so appreciate those of you that read my blog and take the time to comment.  It's so much fun to see what you have to say.

Happy Stitching!

  1. Ok, first of all, I love that sign on the sidebar -- the Keep stitching and order carry out one. LOVE IT! I want it! lol! I like the CHS piece you're working on -- it's a good classic, isn't it? Good luck with your header. I can't remember what I did to mine -- it was back in the dark ages, and now when I change it I change as little as possible so as not to mess it up. So I'm no help. Sorry.

  3. Oh, that is one of my favorites! I bought it last year, but still haven't started it--can't wait to follow your progress :)

  4. Love your CHS piece. I'm pretty sure I have it floating around in my stash somewhere, too. ;) I've never read anything by Dorothea Benton Frank so I'll have to check what they have by her at the library - it's always great to discover new-to-me authors!
