Hello Stitching Friends<br />
<br />
I just wanted to take a few minutes to wish all of you a Merry Christmas. It is hard to believe it is time for the holidays to be here. It's like we've all worked like mad getting ready for the big day, and then, here it is.<br />
<br />
I have had this week off from work, using up some vacation days. However, best laid plans and all....I ended up pulling a muscle in my right chest area on Tuesday, so my plans got slowed down. I have been trying to take it easy in the hopes that it heals quickly. It is much better than it was earlier in the week, but still such a pain to have this hinder me when I wanted to get things accomplished this week. Mike told me not to grumble, but be glad I had days off work to take it easy..<br />
<br />
I hope all of you have a great holiday for those of you with some time off, and a Merry Christmas!<br />
May you find the joy and magic of the season.<br />
<br />

Hello fellow stitching friends!<br>
<br>
It's been a long time since I've posted last! This is thanks to my friend Cathy, for inquiries about why I haven't posted in so long. I guess I was waiting for the weather to be completely opposite of my last post...that was in the middle of a heat wave and today we are in for what will be the coldest we've had in awhile... wind chills tomorrow morning are expected to be -30!!!<br>
<br>
I have been busy stitching, reading, working and spending time playing with our granddaughter. Addy is going to be 20 months old at the end of the month. It doesn't seem possible. We enjoy her immensely and get to spend time with her often. She is talking a lot and loves to see her grandma and grandpa. </div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkFn_FL69HfApt-nNTSun9cksg1ogW8Cf89wcbzJNNu7ktmds_vV_RTBJnQQ-LPCnblZCGQx4TsPPNnmxTF3A4WR5pabZeLS8ilupq4xrfnMtXYb8upci663dRmHd-DJ4h52LIa6MlJwY/s640/blogger-image--847445409.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkFn_FL69HfApt-nNTSun9cksg1ogW8Cf89wcbzJNNu7ktmds_vV_RTBJnQQ-LPCnblZCGQx4TsPPNnmxTF3A4WR5pabZeLS8ilupq4xrfnMtXYb8upci663dRmHd-DJ4h52LIa6MlJwY/s640/blogger-image--847445409.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">She loves books and loves to have me read stories ❤.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I do have some finishes to share</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjekgD9eMBl2UMNnOJLfWl2E-mZcdmc5oR7JgeDvtXAGI68TqkzCLP8ykV9rn73Jy6pzMofLnjDSTVeTniU4s3rWvGSGnp_ySqqMrBdBbKvTaywnouiF3OxtAiAeYWgAAHU_bBUorj1Pqw/s640/blogger-image--639848678.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjekgD9eMBl2UMNnOJLfWl2E-mZcdmc5oR7JgeDvtXAGI68TqkzCLP8ykV9rn73Jy6pzMofLnjDSTVeTniU4s3rWvGSGnp_ySqqMrBdBbKvTaywnouiF3OxtAiAeYWgAAHU_bBUorj1Pqw/s640/blogger-image--639848678.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLq_zHM3agQQHjfb6c_-1RgHHKCU_wrbTAjbmVl8mVcnq30i2X8zExl63NScynRJIujdXyMX0dil3AwJQI-YBplIzx-2Lh6gyi3z1NVgWHCY3T50t9tAMl_9NMDpSSi4QLTKaqWGk1yIs/s640/blogger-image--2129513261.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLq_zHM3agQQHjfb6c_-1RgHHKCU_wrbTAjbmVl8mVcnq30i2X8zExl63NScynRJIujdXyMX0dil3AwJQI-YBplIzx-2Lh6gyi3z1NVgWHCY3T50t9tAMl_9NMDpSSi4QLTKaqWGk1yIs/s640/blogger-image--2129513261.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnUqzGzMzm7oCYavsqO8tB_Fh8iNkymgaFtK7VPNcP6JJcSsrsGuPLBYKuWsqlcvS_YYa4YKp3faALUtcHZr9Uiwvd-sucbDlZA4PkZeC1XZSCWz4ngRQEU1OItJFfDuUgMMnWFEbkN1Y/s640/blogger-image--2126196064.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnUqzGzMzm7oCYavsqO8tB_Fh8iNkymgaFtK7VPNcP6JJcSsrsGuPLBYKuWsqlcvS_YYa4YKp3faALUtcHZr9Uiwvd-sucbDlZA4PkZeC1XZSCWz4ngRQEU1OItJFfDuUgMMnWFEbkN1Y/s640/blogger-image--2126196064.jpg"></a></div>Then this is my current project</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiET_0ohPqOpwqvoAzvd6aSxB_XvQw5b0ZUPpHbOhbGV0IA-avGx8CGp5ZYmZRzVwJDni9ZdCL7_yjSEUC6ryjdPD6fppmM8Xcf7wmrMC7WgQ43FyzKKhzWI25AfdG7TmzGeS3ebhPxwH4/s640/blogger-image-965276353.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiET_0ohPqOpwqvoAzvd6aSxB_XvQw5b0ZUPpHbOhbGV0IA-avGx8CGp5ZYmZRzVwJDni9ZdCL7_yjSEUC6ryjdPD6fppmM8Xcf7wmrMC7WgQ43FyzKKhzWI25AfdG7TmzGeS3ebhPxwH4/s640/blogger-image-965276353.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I'm sorry for the crappy photos. Too hot to be outside working for sure. At least that's what I'm telling myself when I look at the weeds that need to be pulled. </div><div><br></div><div>I'm doing inside chores instead today with a stitching break in between them. I like this plan much better. </div><div><br></div><div>I finished up Blackbird Design's "In Full Glory" last night.<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMBrllrVhEOYbMGiqINmI_mGaq1j9yHvIfcYHCMwMDR8tGYe5SfsdfvqdyA5D2-4XmVjWBxN0BUc1H_EXIEUCO68ZGbOUIfcZr5Zh-irFokKECgz9M7kpkYlSX1O4LIVCSTuRjMv6kIdQ/s640/blogger-image-1643075704.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMBrllrVhEOYbMGiqINmI_mGaq1j9yHvIfcYHCMwMDR8tGYe5SfsdfvqdyA5D2-4XmVjWBxN0BUc1H_EXIEUCO68ZGbOUIfcZr5Zh-irFokKECgz9M7kpkYlSX1O4LIVCSTuRjMv6kIdQ/s640/blogger-image-1643075704.jpg"></a></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I substituted some of the over dyed flosses for some I had from Nancy. I'm pleased with the look. I'm not sure if I will find a small frame for it or stitch it into a pillow.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I took the time to put away the flosses from the last two projects before pulling floss for a new small start. I chose "A little beach" by Lizzie Kate. My sister stitched this one and gave me her chart to use. I picked linen the color of sand.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdEgvkAK2fuS3ZUBtPT2pGMQm9UEVulq2HsCDKZ7LIvi-EBDV5kq7I_WWdPlWuu0vaPjaHNuxA9bfR-TCeLToR1anBCJVje7dN8WvkM-BYonSpY4GZCasZ9KpOtVa8_TPgFJWpMG4S7-0/s640/blogger-image--560354179.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdEgvkAK2fuS3ZUBtPT2pGMQm9UEVulq2HsCDKZ7LIvi-EBDV5kq7I_WWdPlWuu0vaPjaHNuxA9bfR-TCeLToR1anBCJVje7dN8WvkM-BYonSpY4GZCasZ9KpOtVa8_TPgFJWpMG4S7-0/s640/blogger-image--560354179.jpg"></a></div>You can see I've barely gotten started. But it's a small design that shouldn't take long.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I did go to stitch group last week. It had been too long since I had attended. It was nice to see everyone and catch up.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Mike has been working a lot of extra hours the last couple weeks. They're opening a new casino. So I've not seen much of him. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I've been busy at work as well. The library's air conditioning decided to malfunction. So I've been dealing with repair people. We should have a new unit ready for installation next week. I sure hope so anyway!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Well I hope you're staying cool and finding some time for stitching. I just managed to catch up on reading blogs this week. I'm always happy to catch up with what all is going on with you, and see your beautiful stitches. I've gotten out of my old routine of reading blogs with morning coffee before work. Since Henry's arrival my morning routine has altered to taking him outside for that first potty break of the day. He's doing much better, but he still is a very busy pup that needs supervision.</div><div><br></div><div>Things have been busy around here. The guys decided on doing some home improvement projects that have taken serious chunks of free time. We decided to fence in our backyard to make it a little easier for Henry's outside enjoyment. (And ours!) We have some much needed improvements scheduled to happen this summer in the backyard. But, the fence turned out great as a first step.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBolgKGv1xlEnwbf355G4ynnAXEodiXJ-6DMFS5mXZkH-fu5vLJziVpcFlndcMkAUF_Qdm3z2roA07BhQMcbV1QJNvTAFmy_ZYA4e1DouaESvZdTHGF6AvJEkiTNWIT0aTMEm0KCTokNI/s640/blogger-image--1256391978.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBolgKGv1xlEnwbf355G4ynnAXEodiXJ-6DMFS5mXZkH-fu5vLJziVpcFlndcMkAUF_Qdm3z2roA07BhQMcbV1QJNvTAFmy_ZYA4e1DouaESvZdTHGF6AvJEkiTNWIT0aTMEm0KCTokNI/s640/blogger-image--1256391978.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Our son knew his Mom wanted something a little fancy for a gate so this is what he came up with</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-tY_eVk6amHf10AKdbwtKgLQoywChiyOqfgPvDaoyAydb0nZtuofZkMHiK-A69vjzTbTXEa21ytpqe9ENsOgN6T3ylWK6MunUS8L8qi53y-zIf7TLf6E0yQOwipno-ZuWEtVsOlgzI80/s640/blogger-image-2139601127.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-tY_eVk6amHf10AKdbwtKgLQoywChiyOqfgPvDaoyAydb0nZtuofZkMHiK-A69vjzTbTXEa21ytpqe9ENsOgN6T3ylWK6MunUS8L8qi53y-zIf7TLf6E0yQOwipno-ZuWEtVsOlgzI80/s640/blogger-image-2139601127.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Since it's been completed we did get it painted white. It looks good white. Please don't notice the house in need of painting. I'm hoping it will be on next years list. The yardwork is endless. It's not one of my favorite things to do. Our daughter in law, Lauren, loves working in the yard much to my delight. I'm hoping she will work her way to our yard to work some magic. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Then, we decided the carpet in the dining room had to go. Too many pet accidents. I honestly don't think shampooing was going to fix it. So, out came the nasty carpet and in went a laminate floor. Our son in law, Joe, did this project with help from Mike.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7ihUHs1Yp7mV6lA3htRbWI64kJ0QwoOFuxCJ6vqELab18GaiZznkkLMyjH680egid2uaaryDivt83KEb9WMsMzn1QgGAt8zW8bFUZgSKa6gQ6ygMv1hIrPkFxtbNDWKF-Uc8DiiJsEXY/s640/blogger-image-944465461.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7ihUHs1Yp7mV6lA3htRbWI64kJ0QwoOFuxCJ6vqELab18GaiZznkkLMyjH680egid2uaaryDivt83KEb9WMsMzn1QgGAt8zW8bFUZgSKa6gQ6ygMv1hIrPkFxtbNDWKF-Uc8DiiJsEXY/s640/blogger-image-944465461.jpg"></a></div><br></div>It looks so much better. But, I still have one large cupboard that needs to get unloaded and moved in there. It seems like the weekends are so packed trying to squeeze stuff in. So, I guess that brings you current with projects here. Well to frost the cake even more, so to speak, our son has started a fence project at their house, so I've been helping stain fence boards for that. Then, our daughter and son in law are rebuilding their downstairs bathroom from scratch. Mike has helped them some with that too.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">It's great that everyone pitches in together to help. We've worked on David's fence on nice weather weekend hours, and the bathroom on rainy ones. The projects still have a long way to go.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">On the Friday before Mother's Day, Mikes's younger brother passed away. He had been ill with cancer for the last several months. Of course we didn't quite expect it to happen as soon as it did. It was up to us, and his other brother to plan his services. We also cleaned out his things. He had been in hospice care the last couple months. So, it has been difficult dealing with all of this. Sad times.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">On to some stitching news. I did get to my LNS to pick up some framing.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh90f75k6N2PLTmjRoMfnXxcS62gR7Hf9-UCM73VlSASiPAFjVFL9vvs5BJ0bX-2biWDsplicgK7EkzDGs90nA767aKYw03XOPahQVktNeJeBQnWYR9tQxvv4MoKkh5N4xnR74RNCJ79Jk/s640/blogger-image--1129918392.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh90f75k6N2PLTmjRoMfnXxcS62gR7Hf9-UCM73VlSASiPAFjVFL9vvs5BJ0bX-2biWDsplicgK7EkzDGs90nA767aKYw03XOPahQVktNeJeBQnWYR9tQxvv4MoKkh5N4xnR74RNCJ79Jk/s640/blogger-image--1129918392.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I was happy with Addy's birth sampler.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaztEPzvIzuU5JgQCFrSqDphIlX7DXjFuCc9t794SLVrGehr5uZAFuIMChIHc8z_kVcMBYHkmfiZJtQYz9a88bDC24VOkUPkx8Ec7qVvtww1lLjIAwPu1NMKA1k1d3ARRfVI8JFv7BL4Y/s640/blogger-image--1055210012.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaztEPzvIzuU5JgQCFrSqDphIlX7DXjFuCc9t794SLVrGehr5uZAFuIMChIHc8z_kVcMBYHkmfiZJtQYz9a88bDC24VOkUPkx8Ec7qVvtww1lLjIAwPu1NMKA1k1d3ARRfVI8JFv7BL4Y/s640/blogger-image--1055210012.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I also got my four Prairie Schooler birds framed. I haven't decided for sure where to hang it. Our son, David and his wife, Lauren took us to Chicago to catch our flight. We stayed with family, and had a great time! My niece, Barb had lots of fun things planned for us. We had our first ever visit to Disneyland. We saw the Pacific Ocean for the first time, we drove to Las Vegas, and drove north up the coast to San Clemente and Morro Bay. We also stopped at Hoover Dam after leaving Vegas. The weather was perfect. Mike also experienced his first plane ride. I realized it had been 33 years since I had taken a plane trip, so it was pretty thrilling for us both.</div><div><br></div><div>Mike took lots of pictures. One of our favorite parts of the trip was seeing the elephant seals near Morro Bay. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigB_pUZpNShWRgiKnW0WAy4VW0Y3DwjFtqSNGiUw4IJyotv6B-49fgjFfNE__imSwEfy7rwxs05GL9AwGmiIw3KIeQyag_Oo81T7Z7-oXMPMEAQazZbGHaND73X7bEZavnkw6vDjKkocs/s640/blogger-image-644786805.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigB_pUZpNShWRgiKnW0WAy4VW0Y3DwjFtqSNGiUw4IJyotv6B-49fgjFfNE__imSwEfy7rwxs05GL9AwGmiIw3KIeQyag_Oo81T7Z7-oXMPMEAQazZbGHaND73X7bEZavnkw6vDjKkocs/s640/blogger-image-644786805.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">They were so much fun to watch. I won't bore you with lots of trip pictures, I promise. I have to say what I liked about Vegas was the cross stitch store we found. Stitchers Paradise.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnszUKuPqJTTtRSYZJ0i12FQNZ51IKfdIPxGsywSRcLw1MA2P_Xq45gnQQsj9K3Bs6hXTfY-PBssoKztNM8ht29YigfsV2JD9M0YnljsQhu-IwJ5ih8HH9w4UKtNRRinh7EItg5DjiLYw/s640/blogger-image--1263515703.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnszUKuPqJTTtRSYZJ0i12FQNZ51IKfdIPxGsywSRcLw1MA2P_Xq45gnQQsj9K3Bs6hXTfY-PBssoKztNM8ht29YigfsV2JD9M0YnljsQhu-IwJ5ih8HH9w4UKtNRRinh7EItg5DjiLYw/s640/blogger-image--1263515703.jpg"></a></div>Here's Barb and I outside the store. When we returned home and our kids wanted to know if we liked Las Vegas, I said the best thing was finding the cross stitch store, they all laughed and said you might know mom would find a cross stitch shop! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">When we returned home to reality, we both had lots to catch up on at work. The kids were glad to have us back home I think. Holly, Joe and Addy picked us up at the airport, so that was pretty exciting. I should have taken a picture of Addys big smile when she spotted us. It was great! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I also have to share an Easter picture of Addy</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpewbz7rlz5p3faRURVrqa5ZwygAabzd8oCkp3BlIhyWFQLAIT28sTRgla43r4verJ8FuHRbnPKvOJA-X5soJdi-dOT27jYkCkXf-T-6qYlTT0qzb3FTRT7M_SxYPJUvimFyMoojf5pT4/s640/blogger-image--204907.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpewbz7rlz5p3faRURVrqa5ZwygAabzd8oCkp3BlIhyWFQLAIT28sTRgla43r4verJ8FuHRbnPKvOJA-X5soJdi-dOT27jYkCkXf-T-6qYlTT0qzb3FTRT7M_SxYPJUvimFyMoojf5pT4/s640/blogger-image--204907.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">The photographer had the cutest animals with her to include in the pictures. It seems there is always something else getting in the way. I can't believe the last post I wrote was before Christmas... Shameful. We did have a great holiday together. Since it was Addys first Christmas it was extra fun. We all had fun watching her open her presents.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrBovHcodQby_jEMLZlGlhZ6aBUhS-gs9337b3YVnnumDlfpSLyiuR8uNMUUzogIbq5-YqV0bQuiUnJXCcVIvE9tYLsPVkIl22Q3ev8oCM5XuJ-x1bBEFtNfPGTo-IGaqRt-qW10y7l84/s640/blogger-image-1434856680.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrBovHcodQby_jEMLZlGlhZ6aBUhS-gs9337b3YVnnumDlfpSLyiuR8uNMUUzogIbq5-YqV0bQuiUnJXCcVIvE9tYLsPVkIl22Q3ev8oCM5XuJ-x1bBEFtNfPGTo-IGaqRt-qW10y7l84/s640/blogger-image-1434856680.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Henry, our puppy, you may remember from my previous post keeps us very busy! We are still working on puppy training. He's growing fast, and is finally learning some lessons. We have a ways to go. I clearly didn't think things through when I decided to get this puppy for Mike near Christmas... It's pretty darn cold standing around outside waiting on him to decide to go potty! He has grown quite a bit since he came home. He is hard to get a picture of, he is so busy!<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8YT0PsbkgW-qK0vGXR22KWnGSJj-bUVDe-Fwnn3Rgp-kwto2QW9MJNRT1flN4zkZPccXNaceDI2Cjw12m7ZH9kvAr4sl1FoLsdCbAjwLn1Nw9NV4Sx10uGdiD6DFDkaoSSmnctbPXswA/s640/blogger-image--2038006892.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8YT0PsbkgW-qK0vGXR22KWnGSJj-bUVDe-Fwnn3Rgp-kwto2QW9MJNRT1flN4zkZPccXNaceDI2Cjw12m7ZH9kvAr4sl1FoLsdCbAjwLn1Nw9NV4Sx10uGdiD6DFDkaoSSmnctbPXswA/s640/blogger-image--2038006892.jpg"></a></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I have been getting some stitching done. So, I should have a finish before long.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">We sure haven't had much snow around here this winter, but we've had some cold temperatures. It's an old chart I've had for years. I decided it was time to give it a go. I think I will change up the design some. I will post a photo of it next time. We are leaving later today to head out to sunny Southern California for some Spring vacation time. I'm sure my next post will have a few vacation photos to share. Since I haven't ever travelled West it will be a new and exciting adventure. <span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Our kids are taking care of the animals. It has been a long time since there's been a puppy in the house. The last time both kids were around 9 to 12 years old and were helping keep that particular puppy busy with lots of playtime. It wore him out.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">We exchanged ornaments at our Monday night party. Bad, bad me!</div><div><br></div><div>I've been stitching, working, decorating for Christmas, doing Christmas shopping just like all of you. But obviously not blogging. I have been reading your blogs though, and keeping up with your news, just a few days behind now.</div><div><br></div><div>Our family had a nice Thanksgiving together at our house. We celebrated it on the Sunday after since Mike had to work. This gave David and Lauren time to go have dinner with her family on Thursday. Joe, Holly, Addy and I spent Thanksgiving day together since Joe's father had to work as well. We had a nice meal together, but we all agreed it didn't feel like Thanksgiving. </div><div><br></div><div>At our family dinner on Sunday I changed up my usual sweet potatoes to use the recipe Marly of Samplers and Santas fame shared. Oh my, what a hit they were, even the family members that didn't usually like sweet potatoes like them! Thank you for that, Marly. This has become a new family favorite.</div><div><br></div><div>Three weeks ago today Addy had surgery for hip displasia. She was placed in a cast following surgery to hold her pelvis in position for healing. The cast basically looks like a pair of shorts, with an opening for diaper placement. Since the issue was discovered at such a young age, her cast time was shortened to 4-6 weeks with time in a brace following. We had to put our beloved dog, Harry to sleep last week. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcYNRv5pNruFkiZCPtPex05PFoAfsexLIZnrupW88Lv8rNh7G-JH2YF1n1dRGYnC05stnqxP_KbHRH6ZKS-7wjK86YbuyQewTE-N1HBLxkGmeaXZz5m5SKoXjkLuafOXwCNZR1Pt6nuUE/s640/blogger-image-642515352.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcYNRv5pNruFkiZCPtPex05PFoAfsexLIZnrupW88Lv8rNh7G-JH2YF1n1dRGYnC05stnqxP_KbHRH6ZKS-7wjK86YbuyQewTE-N1HBLxkGmeaXZz5m5SKoXjkLuafOXwCNZR1Pt6nuUE/s640/blogger-image-642515352.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I know I've shared pictures of him before. This is one of my favorites. After a few consultations with our vet, we decided it was time. He developed Cushings Disease, and had gotten very sick, to the point that he wasn't having much quality of life. We are slowly adjusting to this, but it is going to take time. He was a dog we rescued from an area shelter, not realizing he was as old as he was. But, he needed us, and I'm glad we were able to love him and give him some happy times.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">On the stitching front, I've been very busy trying to finish Summer at Cherry Hill.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">This is where I left off</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_pgGR_5PwFahcYEksK1AvT02g9nZGO6xQ5MTkXBgTmHV_8frE2ggZjK_6cJBQGM4eIrrkbWAjiaeeVlU6FY0QLHdxAn8AVulMj7fMIOJBrVE5yqvFkpZysXcOhxEr7CiJIxOkdldsm4s/s640/blogger-image-730529743.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_pgGR_5PwFahcYEksK1AvT02g9nZGO6xQ5MTkXBgTmHV_8frE2ggZjK_6cJBQGM4eIrrkbWAjiaeeVlU6FY0QLHdxAn8AVulMj7fMIOJBrVE5yqvFkpZysXcOhxEr7CiJIxOkdldsm4s/s640/blogger-image-730529743.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I just have the grassy area to do at the bottom. We had a fun family gathering on the fourth. Our small town does the holiday up in a big way with a parade, a talent show, a 5k race and lots of activities for the kids in between. We just went to see the parade then headed home for a cookout. </div><div><br></div><div>Then next up was my birthday. </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7r7GcSx8KrHxGCMn5VPv02gezSax9AJLSkbg0IXqkfFTPkC6jN8dEQ75bVAbGGYaskyP7iPF7Y7wgvQm1vq0MYqa3w1jJOD8Kwfzh8L_PBLuo6Ajeho2LhfZ2ZSifpM31KE4se_EuIiA/s640/blogger-image-1416633783.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7r7GcSx8KrHxGCMn5VPv02gezSax9AJLSkbg0IXqkfFTPkC6jN8dEQ75bVAbGGYaskyP7iPF7Y7wgvQm1vq0MYqa3w1jJOD8Kwfzh8L_PBLuo6Ajeho2LhfZ2ZSifpM31KE4se_EuIiA/s640/blogger-image-1416633783.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">David and Lauren bought me a cute project pouch from etsy, and wind chimes for the front porch. Joe and Holly bought me a bottle of my favorite fragrance. Then Mike found a Vera Bradley bag and matching wallet. So, I felt very spoiled and lucky to have such a sweet family.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I have been stitching away on my current project! It holds my chart so nicely and it's easy to pick up and move to wherever I am going to be sitting. We refurbished four of these for use at the library during our summer reading program. (we had a music theme). I claimed one of them after the end of the program. It's been great to use.</div><div><br></div><div>Otherwise I have been keeping busy at work and finding some time to spend with Addy. We have had thunderstorms the last two nights. That means the dog has been sleeping in our bed. Like many dogs, he is not a fan of thunderstorms. Then about 5:30 he decided it was time for his morning bathroom break. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOpOegr0iUwZo6MIDEvy1o-q_f98IZQYlDb-dlgti5gqHQnOvRZkiAjU0EayhjB3rm3ejy30rFey4Aw9JFV9tcvGlKCPJQDtx73bHVX7LXJl0E8aGtXP0R3lSJUWHKVFtLDj96i7KsVeU/s640/blogger-image--2058129245.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOpOegr0iUwZo6MIDEvy1o-q_f98IZQYlDb-dlgti5gqHQnOvRZkiAjU0EayhjB3rm3ejy30rFey4Aw9JFV9tcvGlKCPJQDtx73bHVX7LXJl0E8aGtXP0R3lSJUWHKVFtLDj96i7KsVeU/s640/blogger-image--2058129245.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Instead of going back to bed, I started the coffee and headed to the computer. It's my usual habit to read blogs over my morning cup of coffee before heading off to work during the week. Some mornings I only have time to grab the coffee and go, others I have time to read awhile. I don't set my alarm, I don't oversleep enough to be late for work. I don't miss setting an alarm to get up to wake kids up for school. Neither one of our children were morning people. It was always a job to get them up and moving. Well, I digress. But today I not only caught up on my blog reading, I thought I would indulge in more coffee and do a blog post of my own! You will have to forgive me if there are typos since I didn't grab my glasses on my way downstairs. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">It sounds like we are in for more storms later today. I don't mind them, in fact I rather like Spring storms, unless of course they produce tornadoes. We had a tornado touch down in our town in 1996. It did quite a bit of damage to homes. Most of it was confined to the other side of town from where we live. The house we used to live in before this one was one that had to be torn down because while the tornado didn't level it, the house was twisted due to the winds. So much so, that the walls cracked on the inside. My sister was here visiting at the time. Mike was at work. I remember Karen and I taking our kids to the basement with us as the tornado sirens were sounding. The kids were ages 5 and 8 at the time. They both remember the tornado well. After it was over, and reports started circling around our neighborhood about the damage, I was very worried that the library was damaged. I had only been named the Director a few months prior. I had visions of a building without a roof! But I was finally able to make it over to the library relieved to find it unharmed, with the tornado's path starting a mere three blocks to the north. Needless to say we felt very lucky.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I did spend time stitching last night. I will share a picture of my progress.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1W0D2EG-XtpHBYmq_GD-8Aa4zTlTQTn-1mivXTPovsBMOLvmQ2BEwILXM7DsvyqBteHrfQgNDuLeCNNL8j8FspRqWjJ04KO2T5zrom1dDea-0dxtPFbPp6Tl0oR3LdJi0-MBa2fbNF78/s640/blogger-image--913404325.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1W0D2EG-XtpHBYmq_GD-8Aa4zTlTQTn-1mivXTPovsBMOLvmQ2BEwILXM7DsvyqBteHrfQgNDuLeCNNL8j8FspRqWjJ04KO2T5zrom1dDea-0dxtPFbPp6Tl0oR3LdJi0-MBa2fbNF78/s640/blogger-image--913404325.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Sorry for the wrinkled shot. But that's as good as you are getting for now. I don't have a lot left on this before it will be done. But there is satin stitching and a bunch of specialty stitches at the bottom edge of the design. I am mostly concerned about how well the satin stitch will be covered. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I do have pictures to share from my recently framed finishes.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3rga5LXs41bCk5spQoszVrZfe3D5-xjtpe27aAFYkYXMtGVljF3eWdd9GZ2Ma_nCrCdbaxSm7wtREyJ_uOSLRCt_M06Zdn_8hHxqFRyMygoOzE1FLJCwgpo_7Nj6_XD8NvPZhaSW_MXg/s640/blogger-image-978205827.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3rga5LXs41bCk5spQoszVrZfe3D5-xjtpe27aAFYkYXMtGVljF3eWdd9GZ2Ma_nCrCdbaxSm7wtREyJ_uOSLRCt_M06Zdn_8hHxqFRyMygoOzE1FLJCwgpo_7Nj6_XD8NvPZhaSW_MXg/s640/blogger-image-978205827.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZvjPOlgddCzSxm9WE4m6Ho_4CaKy22f82l5e_RNNHOppvNtv0-xoo9fliGQ_Zd1vR-kdwM59imDdpbcII7FG4DB9g0K7-Ee-CjAGy-CB0x1k9GmZn5tDY2EB8pCGZ5GjtMW_7R8c2-0o/s640/blogger-image--1408804029.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZvjPOlgddCzSxm9WE4m6Ho_4CaKy22f82l5e_RNNHOppvNtv0-xoo9fliGQ_Zd1vR-kdwM59imDdpbcII7FG4DB9g0K7-Ee-CjAGy-CB0x1k9GmZn5tDY2EB8pCGZ5GjtMW_7R8c2-0o/s640/blogger-image--1408804029.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJgRhm2P9jLq8rXI_M_aTgN3eL2Qf5JSvHbyCo0TUz0eg3WV8qryk597ziykYeiCSQ79m-tCSqAPC2pn3ZnfyI3JoPloibSLW3mb7ecynju-c8nL84bZagahIYQ-XrB9CWBceeVV-gdUw/s640/blogger-image-975622389.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJgRhm2P9jLq8rXI_M_aTgN3eL2Qf5JSvHbyCo0TUz0eg3WV8qryk597ziykYeiCSQ79m-tCSqAPC2pn3ZnfyI3JoPloibSLW3mb7ecynju-c8nL84bZagahIYQ-XrB9CWBceeVV-gdUw/s640/blogger-image-975622389.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqYpTpEmxxtJzyC9llxS_tRLW8LtbF_mu0Bcwhu5yDTLVwneKIjqbLd3YM8V-33IH7FL8P_IrseI5KV8bQju2Sm9JxIEnCjBgcliL1cwJBttX-dR1HUVHtlK3xRT7YwirR6yOxUvBfTk4/s640/blogger-image--2098123013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqYpTpEmxxtJzyC9llxS_tRLW8LtbF_mu0Bcwhu5yDTLVwneKIjqbLd3YM8V-33IH7FL8P_IrseI5KV8bQju2Sm9JxIEnCjBgcliL1cwJBttX-dR1HUVHtlK3xRT7YwirR6yOxUvBfTk4/s640/blogger-image--2098123013.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-aeZ1FiYPt7nM1a8rNxIz6OoNYLSn9zU6cllbYUYG3n_14ckgNqwDbInsycln6vQUpkjQ9Cc-HYuD-ksBRHf5m1ANJww9Gy0moFmeCEKYKWMjzM9NjvqI7tyAkutY85KYMRKUGV_IfTg/s640/blogger-image-234787842.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-aeZ1FiYPt7nM1a8rNxIz6OoNYLSn9zU6cllbYUYG3n_14ckgNqwDbInsycln6vQUpkjQ9Cc-HYuD-ksBRHf5m1ANJww9Gy0moFmeCEKYKWMjzM9NjvqI7tyAkutY85KYMRKUGV_IfTg/s640/blogger-image-234787842.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I think this last one is my favorite. If you need to know designers or names of them just comment. I was glad I was able to get several framed at one time. It helped that my LNS had a framing sale of 20% off. But I have to say I am pleased with her work. I can frame things myself, but I get frustrated trying to get my piece mounted squarely and evenly on my backing. Also, it's difficult to find ready made frames the right size. My husband has made frames for me before, but the selection of wood molding available isn't the best.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Well if you are in the path of Spring storms I hope there won't be anything too bad coming. We have been busy around here. Last weekend was a big family event. There was a lovely baby shower for our daughter at our library in the children's room. It think he had fun. They received some lovely gifts for the new baby. We are anxiously awaiting her arrival. We had family here from California, Minnesota, and Maryland. It was quite the weekend! After the girl shower for Holly, we hosted a Dad shower for Joe at our house in the evening. It was a beer and diaper party. The invitees were asked to bring a box of diapers and some beer to share. I made the food for that. We had a great time with everyone.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I guess I don't have any pictures from that to share. It's about an hour and thirty minutes from us. We don't head that direction very often. We tend to gravitate towards the shop in Clinton Iowa more often, since my husband works in that area. But it's always fun to see a new store. I was disappointed that she didn't have many things left from Market. I did buy one chart and the linen. The beautiful things you make just have me thinking gee, I need to add that to my stash too. Lol.</div><div><br></div><div>We are all so excited for Spring to arrive. It sure seems like it was a long cold winter. We have been plagued with ice that hung around for at least 2 or 3 weeks. It never warmed up enough to melt. But that should change this week! We have temps projected in the 40s or better all week. That is guaranteed to bring smiles.</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQV8uJn6BsU3AvkRl72970H13ydq8CMJ0I0aK7cKk_P5OVqqI78Io738rG2-U1QqAdk286zthYumGYzvwHV7CrIlmbOLz2sOHVQeGAOFN8U1_cF_NPxzQA1xMwd8BalD3AK57y0afqrVo/s640/blogger-image-1393853752.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQV8uJn6BsU3AvkRl72970H13ydq8CMJ0I0aK7cKk_P5OVqqI78Io738rG2-U1QqAdk286zthYumGYzvwHV7CrIlmbOLz2sOHVQeGAOFN8U1_cF_NPxzQA1xMwd8BalD3AK57y0afqrVo/s640/blogger-image-1393853752.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I got new glasses last week.
